CYBERSECURITY PRACTITIONER
Network Security, Vulnerability Assessment & Security
Operations
PROGRAM INTRODUCTION
Cybersecurity Practitioner is the second level of the SkillNexa Cybersecurity pathway.
Students entering this program should already understand basic computer systems, operating
systems, networking, programming fundamentals, and cybersecurity concepts from
Cybersecurity Foundations.
At the Practitioner level, students move from:
Understanding cybersecurity β†’ Applying cybersecurity β†’ Analyzing security problems
β†’ Responding to security events
The purpose of this course is not simply to teach students security terminology. Students will
learn how cybersecurity professionals protect networks, identify vulnerabilities, monitor systems,
investigate suspicious activity, manage identities, and secure cloud environments.
All security testing activities in this course must be performed only against:
● Instructor-provided lab systems
● Student-owned systems
● Authorized virtual machines
● Dedicated cybersecurity training platforms
● Systems for which explicit permission has been provided
Students will progressively develop the ability to think like a cybersecurity practitioner.
